The cat was the final boss, and she won without playing.

TL;DR
  • AloisNL finished top lane wins with every League champion except Yuumi, saving her for last because he expected trouble.
  • Locking Yuumi in as top laner ended champion select instantly and reportedly earned him a three-day suspension.
  • He had used Mastery Level three to get around earlier bans on Bard and Milio top, but the same trick failed with Yuumi.

League of Legends streamer AloisNL was one champion away from finishing his A-to-Z top lane challenge. That champion was Yuumi. He never got to play her.

After locking in Yuumi as the assigned top laner in ranked Solo/Duo, champion select was terminated before the game could load. Alois then reportedly received a three-day account suspension.

The challenge was simple on paper and brutal in practice: win a top lane game with every champion in the game, in alphabetical order. A loss doesn’t count, so difficult picks could take several attempts. By the end of the run his account was playing in Diamond and Master level lobbies.

He beat the second-to-last obstacle by winning with Zyra top. That left only Yuumi.

Alois had deliberately saved her until everything else was done, because he expected the pick to trigger Riot’s automated champion select intervention. Saving her for last meant a ban couldn’t interrupt the rest of the run.

He had already been stopped twice

This wasn’t his first run-in with the system. Alois was reportedly penalized earlier in the challenge for picking Bard top and again for Milio top.

The workaround he found was champion mastery. After playing enough games to reach Mastery Level three on those champions, he was able to lock them in and eventually get the wins.

So he did the same thing with Yuumi. He played her until Mastery Level three, expecting that to prove prior experience and keep the automated system off his back. It didn’t work.

Riot hasn’t publicly explained what triggered the penalty. It’s unclear whether the Yuumi pick alone was enough, whether teammate reports in champion select were required, or whether account history and high-elo matchmaking played a role.

Alois says he still plans to finish the challenge. His idea is to get a Yuumi top win in normal Summoner’s Rift or Ranked Flex first, hoping the extra role experience makes the pick less likely to get flagged in Solo/Duo.

Whether that actually changes anything is anyone’s guess. For now, the A-to-Z run is stuck at Y.
