TL;DR
  • Busio will play for Poland at the upcoming ENC despite being eligible for Team USA.

Alan “Busio” Cwalina has confirmed he will represent Poland, not the United States, at the upcoming ENC. The dual-national support player shared a short statement explaining the choice, and it’s about as wholesome as roster news gets.

“Hi guys, this was a hard decision for me because I’m both Polish/American, and embrace both sides,” Busio wrote. “Ultimately, I chose to represent Poland as my Dad did in the Olympics, and he was the one who introduced me to League in the first place. Thank you and I hope you can support me!”

The American-born pro made it clear the call wasn’t easy. He identifies with both countries but leaned into family history to break the tie.

A generational handoff

That family history is no joke. Busio’s father, Krzysztof Cwalina, swam for Poland at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. He’s also the person who first put League of Legends in front of his son, which makes the Polish flag an easy thread to follow from the pool deck to the Rift.

Busio shared the news alongside a photo of him and his father at what looks like an old League event, with Faker visible on a screen in the background. The image lands the message harder than any roster card could.
