Counter-Strike player MAUschine has been hit with a reported 10-year competitive ban after striking an opposing player on stage at CaGGtus, a major LAN event in the German-speaking scene.
The altercation happened right after a match had concluded, with both players still on stage during the post-match proceedings. Footage from the broadcast shows MAUschine walking up to his opponent and slapping him in the face.

Stage staff moved in quickly afterward, and MAUschine was reportedly told to leave the area. The opponent, for his part, barely reacted. There was no retaliation, and the moment passed so fast that some viewers missed it entirely on first watch.
The punishment came down hard. DACH CS, the main organizing body covering Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, issued a minimum 10-year ban that blocks MAUschine from competing across the regional scene. CaGGtus itself is said to have added a permanent ban from its own event on top of that. Reports also suggest the case has been escalated to ESIC for further review, though official confirmation is still pending.
What set him off is unclear. Chatter points to post-match tension and prior trash talk between the two, with one claim floating around that MAUschine snapped over someone mocking him in a clip. None of that has been verified by the organizers or the players involved.
