Ethan Klein has publicly accused moderators from various “snark” communities of orchestrating fake posts designed to damage both the H3 Podcast and Destiny’s online communities.
During a recent broadcast, Klein claimed to have obtained Discord messages proving that these moderators were deliberately creating false content to make both communities look bad.
“We have a mole who sent us evidence of these snark moderators coordinating to plant fake posts,” Klein stated during his stream. “They’re literally manufacturing drama to turn communities against each other.”
According to Klein, at least one fabricated post targeting Destiny’s community was created and shared before being quickly removed by moderators. However, screenshots of the post had already begun circulating online, reaching the apparent goal of spreading misinformation.
Klein didn’t publicly share the alleged Discord messages during his stream, saying he needed to protect his source. This has led some viewers to question whether his claims are legit, while others remain convinced based on Klein’s confidence in presenting the accusations.
During a particularly dramatic part of the broadcast, Klein suggested legal consequences should follow for those involved in the coordinated smear campaign.
“Snark” communities have gained notoriety in online spaces as groups dedicated to criticizing and often mocking content creators. What began as spaces for real criticism has, according to many creators, including Klein, evolved into coordinated harassment campaigns.
This isn’t the first time Klein has threatened legal action against individuals who are organizing harassment against him. The H3 Podcast host has a history of public feuds with other creators, including Trisha Paytas and Keemstar.
Destiny, whose community was also supposedly targeted by these fake posts, has yet to publicly comment on Klein’s accusations. The political commentator has his own significant following and has previously been involved in disputes with both Klein and Piker.
