Sebastian “Forsen” Fors has been hit with a week-long chat restriction in League of Legends as punishment for his toxic in-game behavior. The Swedish gamer, known for his abrasive personality, is also temporarily banned from ranked play until he completes five normal games. He received the ban during his latest Twitch stream on Saturday, where he lost his temper during a competitive match.
Forsen is known for pushing boundaries in games like Minecraft, Hearthstone, and League of Legends. With a Twitch following of 1.74 Million, the spotlight shines bright on his every move and comment. Fans were surprised that Riot Games took this long to take action against Forsen, given his track record.
The irony was not lost on the gaming community when Forsen told a Hecarim player to uninstall the game, considering his own slew of toxic remarks. Jokes and memes quickly spread, with some thanking Riot for “saving the community” and others suggesting Forsen should just switch back to Dota 2.
LoL’s system automatically flags certain phrases and actions, dishing out punishments to offending players. Besides his 7-day chat ban, Forsen’s Honor level has also been reduced as a punishment for his comments. The Swedish streamer was not too worried by this corrective measure, though, since he could not care less about cosmetics in the game. His careless attitude sparked a lot of ironic comments among his fans.
The restriction means Forsen can only type a limited number of messages per game, curtailing his ability to freely express his trademark brand of smack talk. If you know Forsen and his community well, you can predict that the ban will not have a significant impact on his future choice of words.
