Forsen talked about a new World of Warcraft add-on during a recent stream. The add-on has a simple goal: stop players from seeing messages from members of Olympus, the guild community tied to Asmongold.
The add-on is listed on CurseForge under the name “olympusmute.” It’s reportedly made for WoW Forever, which is in beta right now.
Olympus is a big name in WoW right now. Asmongold’s community doesn’t fit into one guild, so it spreads across several guilds that share the Olympus name. One player said they spotted a member of “Olympus XXII.”
That means a lot of Olympus players can show up in public chat. Some players say public channels are full of requests for invites to “Asmon’s layer.” Layering puts players into separate copies of the game world to handle big crowds. Getting into the same layer as Asmongold is clearly a hot ticket.
One player explained the appeal clearly: “I don’t want to mute global chat. I want global chat. I do not want ‘Asmon layer invite begging’ chat.”
WoW already lets you ignore players one at a time. But the ignore list has a limit, and blocking a whole community by hand is a slow job. A targeted filter skips that work.
