OhnePixel tried out Counter-Strike‘s new quiet reload during a live match. It didn’t help him.

On his stream, he starts the slower reload near a doorway. An opponent is close by. The stealth move is supposed to keep him hidden, but the encounter doesn’t seem to go his way.

He didn’t need to reload. Fans quickly pointed out that he still had ammo left. That means OhnePixel chose to use the new mechanic. His gun wasn’t empty.

Reloading early is normal in Counter-Strike. But a reload takes time, and with an enemy nearby, that time can cost you the fight.

The big question is how the opponent knew he was there. One viewer blamed his position. OhnePixel peeked partly into the doorway and then backed off. If so, the enemy may simply have seen him. The reload sound wouldn’t matter. Others think the enemy may have heard the reload.

Players still don’t agree on how quiet the new reload is. Some wonder if this new feature makes reloading entirely silent, or simply quieter than usual.
