IShowSpeed’s packed elevator triggers weight limit warning during IRL stream

It turns out squeezing a streamer, his brother, and 2 bodyguards into one elevator is a bad idea.

TL;DR
  • Speed's elevator hit its weight limit while he was inside with his brother Jamal, security, and several others.
  • The overload alarm went off just as Jamal entered, making him the target of the joke.
  • Viewers noted the elevator was already packed with large bodyguards, so the trigger was almost certainly cumulative.

IShowSpeed is going viral again, this time for an awkward elevator ride that ended with an overload warning going off mid-stream.

A recent clip shows the streamer packed into an elevator with his brother Jamal, at least two bodyguards, and a handful of other people. As the doors try to close, the elevator’s weight-limit alarm kicks in and refuses to move.

The group instantly turns the moment into a bit, with Jamal ending up as the punchline since the alarm seemingly triggers as he steps in. Speed reacts the way Speed always does, loud and animated, while people outside the elevator can be seen waving them on to hurry up.

Viewers were quick to point out that the elevator was already carrying around seven or eight people before Jamal stepped in, including Speed’s security team, who are noticeably tall and broad.

Elevators are built with load sensors that lock the car in place once the rated weight is crossed, and when an elevator is already near capacity, the last person in almost always sets it off.
