iShowSpeed had one of the closer calls of his streaming career this week, leaning his head and upper body out of a moving vehicle while broadcasting live from Barbados.
Footage from the stream shows Darren Watkins Jr. hanging out the side of the vehicle as it moved down a tight, narrow road. Other vehicles, walls, and roadside obstacles passed within inches of him.
At one point he appeared to come dangerously close to clipping his head on something passing by. Speed himself was heard saying he “almost died,” before going right back to doing the same thing.
People with him in the vehicle could be heard urging him to get back inside. He kept leaning out anyway, and at one moment glanced down at his phone for several seconds while still hanging out the window. Another clip shows him briefly letting go with one hand to slap palms with someone, leaving him even less stable.
Barbados is known for narrow, winding roads lined closely by walls, poles, and oncoming traffic, and they drive on the left. That clearance does not leave much room for stunts. Standard road-safety guidance is simple: keep your body inside the vehicle. A head strike on a fixed object at even moderate speed can cause serious injury.
