Popular travel streamer Jinnytty has been deported from Taiwan and banned from returning for three years after participating in a Diablo 4 promotional event without the proper work permit.
It all happened after she was invited by Blizzard to a single-day promotional event in the country, which required legal work authorization that was never secured.
According to reports, Jinnytty believed all necessary permits were in place based on assurances from both her agency and Blizzard, who were responsible for handling the paperwork. The oversight came to light when someone reported the violation to Taiwanese authorities, triggering immediate action from immigration officials.
“Streaming is working. If you’re getting paid or receiving donations, you are technically working,” explained one Taiwanese commenter familiar with local regulations. While Taiwan’s work permit rules exist for all foreign nationals, enforcement typically happens only when violations are specifically reported.
Despite initial frustration directed at her agency and Blizzard Taiwan for the paperwork failure, Jinnytty ultimately acknowledged her own responsibility in the matter.
“I should have verified the documents myself,” she reportedly stated after the incident. There are indications that Blizzard’s Taiwan branch may have paid a fine related to the situation, though this hasn’t been officially confirmed.
Jinnytty has over a million subscribers on Twitch, growing her channel through travel content, including multiple previous successful visits to Taiwan. Her streams have generally been well-received by viewers and locals alike, with her content often showcasing local culture and tourist destinations in a positive light.
