Shortly after, Twitch reversed the ban. However, his follower count took a nosedive, plummeting to a measly eight before slowly climbing back to its original 273,000. Twitch’s notoriously glitchy follower counter stroke again.
After the story blew over, some fans questioned the legitimacy of the hacking claim, suggesting it might be a publicity stunt. After all, nothing says “happy birthday to me” quite like a controversy-fueled boost in viewership.
