A mall security guard has filed a civil lawsuit seeking more than $1m in damages from Kai Cenat, Duke Dennis, AMP, and other associated parties, claiming he was punched while trying to intervene in a hide-and-seek livestream filmed inside a mall.

The case appears to have been filed in Bexar County, Texas, which covers San Antonio.

According to the complaint, AMP was filming a hide-and-seek production inside a mall when an altercation broke out with mall security. The guard claims he stepped in to address the situation and was punched in the process.

The injuries were allegedly serious enough to require emergency-room treatment. The lawsuit seeks damages for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and lost earning capacity.

AMP had reportedly paid to rent a portion of the mall for the shoot. The dispute appears to center on whether the group stayed past the agreed time, moved outside the authorized area, or kept filming after security tried to shut things down.

Who is being sued

The complaint reportedly names Kai Cenat, Duke Dennis, AMP, and additional event personnel, possibly including a producer and a manager connected to the shoot.

Notably, the punch was allegedly thrown by a security person working with the AMP production, not by Kai or Duke personally. In civil cases, plaintiffs commonly sue not just the person who threw the punch but also the people and entities who hired, supervised, or directed that person. That likely explains why the AMP names are on the filing.

No outcome has been reached, and the defendants haven’t yet been found liable. Cenat, Dennis, and AMP haven’t publicly responded to the filing.
