VALORANT pro Anthony “okeanos” Nguyen is officially shopping for a new home. The player has gone public with an LFT (“looking for team”) status, putting an end, or at least a pause, on his run with Evil Geniuses.
okeanos joined Evil Geniuses with serious hype around his name. His EG stretch was inconsistent, with flashes of the player fans remembered, clean aim duels, the occasional 3K, a clutch here and there, but rarely strung together over a full series. For a roster trying to rebuild after EG’s post-Champions 2023 transition, that wasn’t enough.
His body language on stage also shifted noticeably. Gone was the loud, expressive player viewers had grown attached to. In his place was someone who often looked frustrated, even after good rounds.
Rewind to his Leviatán days and the energy was completely different. okeanos was loud, animated, popping off after rounds, and forming one of the most entertaining duos in the region alongside Sato.
That lineup was short-lived, but it left a mark. It’s the version of okeanos teams will be hoping to unlock again.
Where does he land?
That’s the big question. VCT Americas rosters are mostly set, and one obvious-on-paper option, Cloud9, has already locked in its fifth. Sentinels has been thrown around as a hypothetical, but nothing concrete is on the table.
A Challengers team chasing Ascension could be a realistic backup route, and an international move isn’t off the table either. For now, okeanos is in the market with strong mechanics, a fanbase that still believes in him, and one big question mark next to his name: consistency.
