A new ratings listing has reportedly surfaced for Persona 4 Revival, giving the most concrete sign yet that Atlus’ long-rumored remake of the 2008 JRPG classic is real and edging closer to a formal reveal.
Ratings board appearances often pop up shortly before publishers go public with trailers or release dates, which is why the listing has fans on high alert. The title is widely expected to follow the playbook of Persona 3 Reload.
The listing carries a Mature 17+ rating with descriptors including Partial Nudity, in line with previous Persona entries. Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5 have all landed M ratings before, so nothing here points to a major tonal shift. The Partial Nudity tag fits with existing Persona 4 content like Kanji’s bathhouse dungeon, Rise’s idol-themed dungeon, and certain Persona designs the series is known for.
Speculation is now pointing toward an upcoming Xbox showcase as the likely reveal stage. Atlus has leaned heavily on Microsoft’s events in recent years, with Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio both getting prominent spots. Nothing about a showcase appearance has been confirmed by Atlus or Sega.
What Revival actually is
Persona 4 originally launched on PlayStation 2 in 2008, following a group of high schoolers in the rural town of Inaba investigating murders tied to the Midnight Channel. Persona 4 Golden, the expanded PS Vita version from 2012, added new character Marie, extra Social Links, new scenes, and additional endings, and is generally seen as the definitive cut.
Fans expect Persona 4 Revival to fold in Golden content, especially since Marie is woven into the early story. The bigger debate is whether Atlus will redesign the original’s themed dungeons into something closer to Persona 5‘s bespoke Palaces, or stick to a more faithful modernization like Reload did with Tartarus.
