Capcom’s long-delayed sci-fi action game PRAGMATA has moved more than one million units in its first two days on sale, the publisher has confirmed. For a brand new IP with no franchise backing, it’s a strong start right out of the gate.
The milestone is notable because PRAGMATA has been stuck in limbo for years. First announced back in 2020 with a stylish trailer and a vague release window, the game was pushed back multiple times before finally landing on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S at a $60 price point.
PRAGMATA is a third-person, single-player action-adventure set on a Moon research facility that has gone very wrong. Players follow engineer Hugh and his unlikely companion Diana, an android, as they try to escape after responding to a distress call. The combat loop mixes gunplay with real-time hacking, and campaigns reportedly run anywhere from 10 to 20 hours depending on how much optional content players chase.
Early impressions have been warm. Players are praising the tight pacing, polished combat, and the chemistry between the two leads, with many calling it a “no filler” experience. Some have pointed out a simple story and a clunky checkpoint system, but the overall reception has clearly been positive enough to drive fast word of mouth.
On the technical side, PRAGMATA runs on Capcom’s RE Engine and has been praised for strong PC performance across GPUs like the RTX 3080, 4070 Super, and 5070 Ti. The only consistent issue reported has been instability when path tracing is enabled, which most players fix by turning it off.
