New footage shows the father of a young girl injured during a Diwali firework incident involving Sam Pepper helping her fit an ocular prosthesis. It points to an injury far more serious than the one Pepper publicly described.
This happened in Delhi during Diwali celebrations, while Pepper was filming content in the street. A firework went off close to the child’s face.
Shortly after, Pepper posted on X that the girl had suffered a “cut above their eyebrow.” That post came very soon afterward, likely before any full hospital assessment. He hasn’t publicly corrected or expanded on it since.
An ocular prosthesis, often called a glass eye, is a cosmetic device. It doesn’t restore vision. Modern versions are usually made from medical-grade acrylic and sit over an implant, under the eyelids. It’s normally fitted after an eye has been surgically removed or damaged beyond saving.
Eye injuries are one of the most common serious harms during Diwali every year, especially among children standing close to ignition points. Doctors regularly warn that the true damage often isn’t obvious in the first hours.
Pepper was briefly off Kick afterward and is streaming there again. Kick hasn’t publicly explained the suspension, its length, or the reasoning behind the reinstatement.
Pepper hasn’t commented on the new footage.
