World of Warcraft streamer StaySafeTV has been banned from Twitch. This ban comes amid a storm of allegations, including racism, antisemitism, and viewbotting.
The controversy all started with an Imgur album containing over 151 images. These screenshots, pulled from StaySafeTV’s Discord, paint a damning picture of racist and antisemitic behavior. Some fans in the streaming community had suspicions, but now we have seen the evidence.
But it wasn’t just the Discord drama that brought down the axe. Accusations of viewbotting meaning that the streamer artificially inflated Twitch viewer numbers. The combination of these violations proved too much for Twitch to ignore.
Longtime viewers and fellow streamers alike have now turned on StaySafeTV. Swedish WoW streamer Ziqo took to X, and called out StaySafeTV for his behavior.
This isn’t the first time StaySafeTV has earned a bad reputation. In 2019, well-known streamers like Esfand and Asmongold defended him against similar accusations. Now they probably wish they hadn’t.
Many streaming and WoW fans are questioning how such behavior could go unchecked for so long. “If this is the reason he’s banned, I’m shocked it didn’t happen sooner,” one community member said. It turns out StaySafe’s poor taste and unacceptable opinions were well known in the community.
StaySafeTV was once considered for an OTK membership—but with the recent ban, these negotiations will most likely be frozen for a while. He still can shift to alternative streaming platforms like Kick as Twitch embraces its role as the watchdog of the streaming community.
