TheShy kills Olaf under tower on Camille and flashes out on almost no health

The turret was loading up one more shot and simply ran out of time.

TL;DR
  • TheShy dove an enemy Olaf under turret with Camille and got the kill while sitting at critical health.
  • He used Q on a minion for movement speed, healed off the outer edge of Tactical Sweep, then Hookshot and Flashed out before the turret could launch its next shot.
  • The play instantly reminded fans of his 2018 Invictus Gaming days, and had them arguing over whether the combo order was actually optimal.

TheShy is back on highlight duty. A recent clip shows the Korean top laner walking his Camille deep into enemy turret range to finish off a low-health Olaf, then escaping with a Flash at the very last moment.

A tower dive means attacking an enemy champion while standing inside the range of their turret. Normally you do it with a numbers advantage. TheShy did it solo, on almost no health, against a champion that gets stronger the lower he drops.

The setup starts with a minion. TheShy used the first cast of Precision Protocol on a nearby minion instead of saving it for Olaf. That isn’t a misclick: Camille’s first empowered attack gives her a burst of movement speed, and that speed is what closed the gap and put her in range for the next step.

That next step was Tactical Sweep, Camille’s cone attack. Hitting a champion with the outer edge of the cone deals bonus damage, slows them, and heals Camille based on the damage. That heal is very likely the reason she was still standing when Olaf went down.

From there it was Hookshot off the terrain and Flash out.

Why the turret didn’t get one more shot

There’s a noticeable pause between the last turret hit and the Flash, long enough that it looks like another shot should have connected.

Turrets don’t fire instantly. They pick a target, wind up, then release the projectile, then wait before the next attack. Once a projectile is in the air, running away doesn’t save you: it follows. But if you leave range before it launches, nothing happens.

TheShy crossed the range line during that window. Not a dodge, just brutal timing.

Turret shots also ramp up in damage the longer you stay under it, so one extra hit at that health total would have ended the play very differently.

Viewers spent most of the discussion arguing about whether the ability order was optimal or whether he could have escaped a shot earlier with a different sequence. Others pointed out the real skill was spotting that the kill existed at all.
