Twitch and its streamers are showing their generous sides these days. After Twitch donated $100,000 to Maya Higa’s charity, it’s now Faze member Jason’s turn. During his recent Subathon, the streamer gave his chat a 10-minute window to gift subscriptions for his housekeeper. Together, they raised $12,000 in just a few minutes.
Jason donated the entire sum to the housemaid, who had been helping out during the marathon streaming event and was visible on stream for a few minutes.
This is not the first time that Jason is raising money for a good cause. He previously donated $10,000 to a cancer patient on stream. When he is not raising cash for people in need, Jason regularly collaborates with other big names in the streaming world, like QT Cinderella and Ludwig.
The substantial donation was partly driven by “oilers”—wealthy viewers who often drop large sums on their favorite streamers. Apparently, Jason had a few of these watching this particular stream.
His fans, the chat, and the streaming community all praise his act of kindness. They are glad to see a young and successful streamer that tries to be a role model and does not solely rely on rage baiting to generate views.
Some viewers, however, were also skeptical and pointed out that the streamer currently has 82,000 subscribers and could have raised a substantial sum for the housekeeper out of his own pocket.
