The League of Legends segment of the AT&T Annihilator Cup delivered a surprising win as Emiru and Tyler1’s squad secured a decisive victory against Doublelift’s team. Even with two teammates who barely played League before, their superior teamwork and smart plays proved that working together can be more important than just having flashy skills.
Tyler1 made the bold call to play support instead of his usual carry role. This let him control the map more and give hands-on help to his rookie teammates. Meanwhile, Ludwig and Emiru shared the shotcalling, making sure everyone knew what was going on, which turned out to be a winning strategy.

The team’s prep really paid off. Newcomers Squeex and Agent focused on staying alive above everything else, playing it safe under towers when needed. Thanks to that, the whole team only died four times across the entire match—not bad at all for two newbies in the lineup!
“Dying only four times as a team with two brand new players is impressive,” said one tournament viewer, giving props to how well they stuck to their plan.
On the other side, Doublelift’s team put all their eggs in one basket and tried to carry through him. His team worked around a protect-the-carry comp, but it fell apart as his less experienced teammates had trouble keeping up.
Things took a turn when Summit, on Shen, didn’t use his ult to save Doublelift in a key fight. Without clear calls, he hesitated, and that lost teamfight swung things in Emiru and Tyler1’s favor for good.
This victory is a lot like last year’s tournament, where Emiru’s squad also took down Doublelift’s. The match is a good reminder that in League, with proper teamwork, roles like support and jungle often do more for the team than just stacking up kills as the carry.
