The Worlds Swiss-stage draw for the 1-2 pool is out, and it split the broadcast desk in two.

Team Liquid will face Brazil’s LØS. G2 Esports drew Hanwha Life Esports from the LCK.

Both are elimination series. The loser goes home.

The North American broadcast caught the reveal live, and the reactions were very different.

Spawn went from alarm to relief within seconds as Liquid’s opponent came up.

The relief on Liquid’s side came down to one thing: avoiding HLE. The Korean team is widely seen as the toughest opponent in the pool.

That doesn’t make LØS a free win. Liquid still have to win two games against a team fighting for its tournament life. Some fans even believe LØS would also rather face Liquid than HLE, so both sides may like this draw.

Liquid got here the hard way. They swept the LPL’s Anyone’s Legend (AL) 2-0 in their previous elimination series.

G2 now face a Europe-versus-Korea best-of-three, which most fans see as the hardest matchup in the pool.

The draw also put T1 against Movistar KOI (MKOI). Fans quickly compared MKOI’s path with G2’s, debating which European team got the worse deal.
