Cenk Uygur was in the middle of a shouting match on Piers Morgan Uncensored when his seat suddenly sank several inches beneath him.
The drop was fast enough to bounce his upper body on camera. Uygur looked down, then cut straight through the crosstalk with a startled, “what the f*ck is this?”
Credit to the production crew, who reacted quickly. The camera slowly tilted down to re-center Uygur at his new, lower height, which arguably became the funniest part of the whole clip.
Uygur, who appeared to be joining from a separate remote setup rather than sitting with the rest of the panel, looked annoyed and confused but not hurt. He didn’t fall out of the seat, and the debate rolled on.
The subject before the interruption was his nephew, Hasan Piker. Panelists were pressing Uygur about past comments attributed to the streamer, with Uygur insisting that Piker “loves America.” Then the chair intervened.
Uygur founded The Young Turks and has spent decades in combative political media, including runs for California’s 25th Congressional District in 2020 and a 2024 Democratic primary bid. Piker worked at TYT before going independent on Twitch.
