Destiny took on a hot topic on stream. He reacted to recent comments from Pokimane about Atrioc.
Pokimane’s remarks link back to Atrioc’s deepfake scandal from January 2023. They don’t involve anything new.
Pokimane talked about still feeling uncomfortable around Atrioc. She described it as a “fight or flight” feeling.
The 2023 incident
On January 30, 2023, Atrioc’s browser was briefly visible during a livestream. One open tab showed a website selling nonconsensual sexual deepfakes of women, including well-known streamers.
Atrioc apologized on stream that same night. He admitted that he’d paid for access to the site. He said he found it through an ad and clicked out of curiosity.
Reports at the time named several streamers whose likeness appeared on the site, including Pokimane and QTCinderella. QTCinderella went live in tears. She talked about how much the images hurt her and said she wanted to take legal action. The person who ran the site later took it down and apologized.
Atrioc said he’d step away from streaming and from OFFBRAND, the creative company he co-founded.
When he returned, he said in a statement that he’d paid for legal and takedown services. He said this work helped remove nonconsensual deepfake content of the women affected.
He’s apologized publicly more than once since then.
So far, Atrioc doesn’t appear to have publicly responded to Pokimane’s latest comments.
