FURIA reportedly benches eeiu with C0M lined up as replacement

Nothing says midseason chaos like swapping initiators mid-stage.

TL;DR
  • FURIA has reportedly benched initiator eeiu over internal friction and differing views on how the team should play, per Bruno Povoleri of The Spike Brasil.
  • The decision was reportedly made before FURIA's loss to Leviatán, so the defeat wasn't the trigger.
  • 2023 world champion C0M is the expected replacement, though no signing or benching has been officially confirmed.

FURIA has reportedly benched initiator Daniel “eeiu” Vucenovic. The reason isn’t his aim, but would reportedly stem from internal friction and disagreements about how the roster should play.

The expected replacement is Corbin “C0M” Lee. He won Valorant Champions 2023 with Evil Geniuses, one of the best trophies you can hold in the game. He later played for Leviatán in VCT Americas.

On paper, this keeps things simple: FURIA swaps one experienced initiator for another. Both play Sova. Both bring supportive utility.

But their styles differ. eeiu built his reputation on scan initiators like Sova and Fade, focused on gathering info and enabling entries. C0M is known for macro play, late-round positioning, lurks, and flanks.

That could shift more than firepower. Utility timing, mid-round calls, defensive rotations, and clutch setups may all change.

What’s still up in the air

Nothing here is official yet. FURIA hasn’t confirmed the benching, and C0M’s signing hasn’t been announced. It’s also unclear whether eeiu has simply been benched or fully released from his contract, terms that mean very different things.

The move lands mid-stage, which gives FURIA limited practice time to fit a new fifth into scrims and set plays. It also follows earlier FURIA roster changes involving Alym and Nerve.
