Jesse Watters has found a new way to open a segment.
A Fox News clip shows Watters introducing footage of Hasan Piker with a classic cat call. To be clear, the kitty isn’t a pet. It’s Piker, wearing a cat-themed maid outfit.
Piker wasn’t on the show. There was no interview and no live exchange. Fox simply aired footage of the streamer in costume, with Watters adding his own welcome.
The footage reportedly comes from a maid café in Japan. It’s also not new. Piker streamed it live on his own channel.
So this isn’t a leak or hidden-camera moment. Thousands of his viewers watched it as it happened.
Maid cafés are themed venues from Japanese pop culture. Staff wear stylized maid costumes and play cute characters for guests. Many cafés add games, songs, or short performances. Cat ears and catgirl looks are common in anime and cosplay. At many cafés, guests are invited to join in.
For Piker, the costume looks like what it was on stream: a bit for his chat during some travel content.
Not exactly found footage
Piker is best known for left-wing political commentary on Twitch, and he started out at The Young Turks. But his channel also covers games, collabs, travel, and IRL streams. A clip from the fun side of his content can easily end up on TV without its original context.
He’s also no stranger to conservative TV, where he regularly comes up as a target.
