It turns out shooting someone while out on bond is frowned upon by judges.

TL;DR
  • A Tennessee judge revoked ChudTheBuilder's Davidson County bond after he was charged in a separate courthouse shooting case in Clarksville.
  • His bond in the Montgomery County shooting case remains set at $1m, and he stays in custody.
  • The revocation happened because a condition of his earlier release was that he not be charged with any new crimes.

Streamer ChudTheBuilder just watched his legal situation get a lot worse. A Tennessee judge revoked his previous Davidson County bond after hearing new details tied to a separate courthouse shooting case in Montgomery County.

He now stays locked up in Montgomery County, where his bond in the shooting case remains set at a hefty $1m.

ChudTheBuilder had already been released on bond in a Nashville case out of Davidson County. One of the standard conditions of that release was simple: Don’t get charged with any new crimes while out.

Days later, he was arrested in Clarksville, which sits in Montgomery County, in connection with a shooting near a courthouse. Prosecutors used that new arrest to push for a revocation of his earlier bond, and the judge agreed.

The ruling means ChudTheBuilder can no longer rely on the previous Nashville bond to walk free. Even if someone managed to post the $1m in Montgomery County, the Davidson County revocation creates an extra hurdle to release.

Why the old bond went away

Bond revocation isn’t the same as a conviction. A judge doesn’t need to decide guilt on the new charges to pull back an earlier release.

If a defendant is charged with a new crime, especially a violent one, while out on bond, prosecutors can ask the court to revoke that release. Judges weigh things like public safety, flight risk, and whether the conditions of release were violated.

In this case, the new Clarksville charge alone was enough to trigger the revocation.

ChudTheBuilder remains in custody in Montgomery County. His defense team can file motions to seek bond reinstatement or modification, but for now both cases continue to move forward separately. He hasn’t been convicted in either matter and is presumed innocent.
