Bilibili Gaming has made quite the Esports splash with its latest signing. Earlier today, the organisation officially announced that Park “Viper” Do-hyeon will be joining their team as a starting AD carry for the 2026 League of Legends season.
Viper, widely considered one of the best bot laners in professional League of Legends, left his previous org (Hanwha Life) in mid-November after over 3 years of play, and now fans finally have an answer as to his next venture. In a statement on Weibo, Bilibili Gaming (BLG) went into detail about what this new deal entails, and why Viper is such a valuable pick.
The 2026 BLG roster will feature Viper alongside mid laner Zhuo “Knight” Ding and jungler Peng “Xun” Li-Xun (the latter of whom has also just joined BLG). Chen “Bin” Ze-Bin will stay on as a top laner, while Luo “ON” Wen-Jun remains in the support role. Zhao “Elk” Jia-Hao will not be returning, with his bot laner role being taken by Viper.
Fans are excited for the Viper and Knight team-up
This move from BLG has already gotten League of Legends fans riled up for the season ahead, and it’s not hard to see why. BLG’s had a rough time in 2025, with this year’s World Championship event serving up a defeat at the hands of Top Esports (TES) with a side of scandal, as allegations sprung up about players attending illegal gambling events.
However, placing Viper and Knight on the same team has fans excited again. Despite a smorgasbord of issues plaguing BLG’s 2025 performance, both Viper and Knight have some lightning-in-a-bottle credibility. Both players have their fair share of accolades, and both have fans panicking about how other teams will fare, with many anticipating a bloodbath in the coming season.
Of course, other fans aren’t jumping the gun to quite the same extent. Many are questioning Bin’s role on the team after a lackluster showing in this year’s World Championships, while many others are saying the same about ON. However, while it’s unlikely that Viper and Knight could ever carry a team with their starpower alone, it’s widely agreed that this comp is at least incredibly strong on paper, and likely solid in practice too.
