Cloud9 has officially parted ways with Erick “Xeppaa” Bach, closing the book on one of the longest player tenures in the org’s VALORANT history.
The announcement, which included a farewell video from Cloud9, follows an earlier update that placed Xeppaa on a “break.” That status has now shifted into a confirmed departure, though neither Xeppaa nor Cloud9 has framed it as retirement.
Xeppaa came up through the North American CS:GO scene, most notably with Chaos Esports Club, before transitioning into VALORANT during Riot’s early competitive years. He joined Cloud9 Blue alongside names like leaf, vanity, and mitch, and stuck with the brand through nearly every roster shuffle that followed.
His biggest highlight with the org came at VALORANT Champions 2021, where Cloud9 punched through the NA Last Chance Qualifier and reached the playoffs as the highest-placing North American team at the event. That run remains one of C9’s defining VALORANT moments.
Since the start of the VCT partnership era in 2023, things have been rockier. Cloud9 secured a spot in VCT Americas but has struggled to convert domestic talent into consistent international qualification, cycling through multiple lineups in search of the right mix.
Xeppaa’s exit is the latest in a rapid sequence of roster moves as Cloud9 reshapes its VALORANT project once again. No replacement has been officially announced, and the full new roster hasn’t been confirmed.
As for Xeppaa himself, his next destination is unknown. He hasn’t signed with another team, and based on his own comments, he isn’t hanging up the mouse just yet.
