Kingdom Hearts IV achievement data leaks online and appears to spoil its worlds and a major villain

Nomura kept that secret for a decade, and Steam apparently gave it away in an afternoon.

  • Alleged Japanese Steam achievement data for Kingdom Hearts IV appeared online before being removed, seemingly exposing worlds, story order, and a major name reveal.
  • The claimed lineup includes Star Wars, Zootopia, Coco, Haunted Mansion, an Oswald world, Toy Box, and returning series locations, with several worlds visited twice.
  • One late achievement image reportedly reads "His name is Kara," which fans link to the Master of Masters, though the numbering suggests a postgame fight rather than the final boss.

Alleged Japanese-language achievement data for Kingdom Hearts IV surfaced online this week, and if it’s real, it may have exposed a huge chunk of the game before Square Enix has even shown a proper gameplay trailer.

The material was said to have become visible through Steam’s achievement system before being pulled from public tracking sites. Square Enix, Disney, and Valve haven’t commented, and none of the content below has been officially confirmed. Treat all of it as unverified.

Spoiler warning: what follows includes potentially major story details.

The claimed worlds include Quadratum, Scala ad Caelum, The Underworld, Toy Box, 100 Acre Wood, and the Keyblade Graveyard, plus several new ones.

Among the newcomers: “Galaxy Far Away,” widely read as a Star Wars world. “Savanna Central,” assumed to be Zootopia. “Land of the Dead,” assumed to be Coco. “Monochrome Origins,” which fans think means an Oswald the Lucky Rabbit world. There’s also a Haunted Mansion world, apparently a full combat area rather than a side attraction, and something called “Imagineer Planet” that seems tied to Gummi Ship content.

The Star Wars, Zootopia, and Coco worlds are each said to be visited twice, which would bring back the two-visit structure from Kingdom Hearts II.

Other odd bits: a WALL-E side quest in Quadratum where he works as a “curator,” and Sora helps him collect junk, fishing and music minigames in 100 Acre Wood, a Keyblade “Scrap & Build” system, and an achievement called “Dark Avenger,” with the description, “Those who desired revenge were victorious.” Nobody agrees on who that one is.

The numbering also suggests a structure. Story achievements reportedly run one through 19, with Sora leaving Quadratum and returning to his own reality around number eight: roughly the midpoint, not the finale. Three settings are labeled “unreality” worlds: the Star Wars world, Haunted Mansion, and the Coco world.

The name nobody was supposed to hear

The big one is achievement 19. Its title translates to something like “The Last Name I Heard.” The description reads as “Defeated the one who stood in the way at the end.” The kicker is the achievement image itself, which reportedly contains text reading “His name is Kara.”

Fans immediately connected that to the Master of Masters, whose real name and face have been hidden since he debuted in Kingdom Hearts χ and Back Cover.

The standard “clear the game and view the ending” achievement is reportedly number 17. Number 19 sits after it, and fans analyzing the placeholder icon borders say it uses a challenge or superboss style border, not a story one. That points to a postgame fight rather than the actual final boss.

So even if the data is genuine, it doesn’t prove the Master of Masters ends the story, gets beaten for good, or that “Kara” is his real name rather than a line of dialogue in a trophy image.
