Maya Higa has landed a spot in an official Fortnite advertisement. The clip promotes creature-focused content in the game, and it puts the animal educator front and center.
Higa is best known as a livestreamer and the founder of Alveus Sanctuary, a nonprofit animal sanctuary in Texas. Her online content today leans heavily into conservation and animal education, so the casting fits the theme.

The ad itself mixes live-action footage of Higa with CGI fantasy creatures dropped into the scene. A dog-like animal appears near her, and the whole thing carries a clear “not actual gameplay footage” disclaimer.
Why Higa? The pick makes sense. She built her audience on Twitch, has played games like Elden Ring, Minecraft, and Fortnite on stream, and remains tied to the wider creator scene. But her real value here is her animal expertise. An ad about creatures fronted by one of the biggest animal streamers is smart casting.
It also lets Epic Games reach beyond hardcore Fortnite players. Higa’s viewers may not grind battle royale every night, but many would tune in for anything animal-related.
Fortnite regularly recruits musicians, actors, athletes, and streamers for its campaigns, and appearing in an ad rarely means someone’s getting an in-game skin. This one just happens to feature a creator whose day job is teaching people about actual animals.
