A clip from a Rene Redo livestream shows the streamer’s car making contact with a woman standing right next to it.

The footage shows Redo behind the wheel while a crowd presses in around the vehicle. Several people are holding up phones, filming him through the windows. The car is barely moving, closer to a crawl than a drive.

Redo can be seen looking ahead and sounding the horn to get people to step back. Nobody really does.

A woman is standing alongside the car, leaning toward it, her attention on her phone and the people around her rather than on the wheel next to her. As the car edges forward, her foot ends up in the tire’s path. The wheel appears to roll over or catch it, and she reacts instantly.

It’s unclear whether the woman was hurt, whether she needed treatment, whether Redo stopped the car, or whether the two spoke afterward. The location and date of what happened haven’t been confirmed either.

There’s also no confirmation that police were involved. One unverified claim suggests Redo was later reported for negligent bodily injury, fahrlässige Körperverletzung under German law, but no police statement, case number, or comment from Redo has surfaced to back that up.

Nothing in the video suggests the contact was deliberate. Redo doesn’t appear to be holding a phone or staring at his stream. He’s looking forward, driving in a straight line, and using the horn. That’s roughly the opposite of the usual “streamer scrolling chat at 60kph” clip.

Still, slow doesn’t mean safe. A car moving below walking speed can easily trap a foot, and a driver’s view of what’s happening around the front wheels is basically zero when people are standing that close. Feet disappear below the window line long before the person does. Sneakers and sandals offer next to no protection, and a low-speed rollover can range from a nasty bruise to broken toes or metatarsals.

German traffic law also cuts both ways here. Drivers must adapt to visible hazards and take care around pedestrians. Pedestrians aren’t supposed to step into the path of a moving vehicle. Fault in cases like this is often split rather than pinned on one side.

Redo, who runs restaurants in and around Berlin and has built a loud online persona around food content and streams, hasn’t publicly addressed the clip. Whether the woman was injured, and whether anyone reported what happened, remains unknown.
