Bit Reactor is bringing furloughed employees back to work. The studio announced that the returning staff will continue support for Star Wars: Zero Company.

This isn’t a full comeback. The returns reportedly bring the studio’s pay-rolled headcount to more than half of what it was before the furloughs.

We’re incredibly grateful for your support since the launch of STAR WARS Zero Company. Here’s a message from our CEO:

Bit Reactor is a Maryland-based studio that launched in January 2022. Its team includes Firaxis veterans, among them CEO Greg Foertsch, who served as art director on Firaxis’ XCOM reboot games. That background shows in Zero Company, a single-player, turn-based tactics game.

The game is set in the final days of the Clone Wars. Players follow Hawks, a former Republic officer who leads a squad put together for dangerous missions. Bit Reactor developed it with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games, and Electronic Arts is the publisher. It was fully revealed in April 2025 with a 2026 release window on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Bit Reactor hasn’t shared a timeline for bringing back the employees who are still on furlough.
